Each year, Health Care Communicators of San Diego requests nominations and holds an election for President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer positions, and appoints other members to board positions representing key roles within the organization. This process takes place each year in December and the new board assumes their role immediately following the annual Finest Awards Dinner and Presentation. All board member positions are served within a volunteer capacity.

Christina Campo has more than 20 years in the healthcare industry, with experience including clinic settings, medical device, and project management. Christina is the campaign manager at Scripps Health in their Marketing and Communications department. She works as project manager for their large marketing campaigns and is their CRM platform SME. Christina’s communication skills are at the forefront of her work. With her bachelors in communication, she is an expert in deciphering technical lingo and relaying it in novice terms, allowing the Scripps Health marketing team to work cohesively. She is also responsible for delivering communication to patients regarding physician changes within Scripps Coastal and Scripps Clinic. Susana Medrano has over 8 years of health care marketing experience. She is currently a Sr. Marketing Specialist for Scripps Health where her duties include community outreach events from planning to reporting outcomes. She also works closely with other departments within marketing to support care line, community relations and system wide events. Prior to Scripps Health, Susana was in the mortgage banking industry for 12 years working at banks such as Washington Mutual and First Bank. Pam Nagata joined Scripps Health in 1991 as the Parent Connection Coordinator. In 2015, she joined the Marketing and Communication department as a Senior Marketing Specialist in addition to her duties as Parent Connection Coordinator. She is responsible for development and execution of complex, system-wide marketing and communication projects. This includes developing and implementing tactics that attract and retain patients for the Scripps system and its business units including physicians, hospitals, specialty centers, outpatient centers, programs and services. Taliyah was born in South Africa and moved to the States when she was 16. She worked as a teacher for 12 years. Her education includes a Primary Montessori credential and a BA in History. In her spare time, Taliyah sails competitively on a French team in San Diego and loves to travel the world. She got into marketing about 3 years ago and currently works as an Account Executive at Anderson Direct & Digital. Taliyah develops and executes marketing programs for multiple clients. Julia Contreras currently works for iProspect where she works closely within the SEO channel team on the day-to-day management of SEO campaigns and delivering strong business results. Responsible for supporting and executing SEO strategies, ensuring that all SEO deliverables are executed on time and of a high quality. She got involved with Health Care Communicators of San Diego in 2011 while working for Sharp Healthcare. Julia is a graduate of a business marketing program offering over three years of experience in marketing, public relations, and event planning functions. She has also demonstrated success in elevating brand awareness as evidenced by marketing initiatives that have yielded significant turnout and financial gains through in-kind donations. Heidi Everly is a Senior Corporate Communications Specialist at AMN Healthcare, where she is responsible for managing the company’s intranet, writing a variety of internal and external communications, and developing engaging social media content. Previously, she was the Marketing and Online Community Specialist for Mission Federal Credit Union, playing a vital role in expanding the credit union’s social reach through marketing campaigns. Lucy Alvarez has been a Web Developer for 8 years. She earned her Web Design and Developing degree while gaining experience at Southwestern College as the official Web Developer. Her career has given her many opportunities to work with companies from different cultures including Mexico and Central America. Lucy currently works as a travelling consultant for the EPIC software. She is currently in the PeaceHealth project in Washington and Oregon regions, working as a trainer to help transition from the old EMR documentation to the new CareConnect/Epic software for Ancillary and Clinical services. Lucy is grateful to have the opportunity to teach caregivers a new software and help improve not only the caregivers daily lives but also the patient(s) experience and support when they need it the most. Annemarie Haydel is a senior marketing specialist at Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego. She has more than 20 years of experience in public relations, public affairs, marketing and community relations in diverse settings including health care, higher education and non-profit organizations. At Rady Children’s, Annemarie coordinates media relations, social media strategy and content as well as marketing efforts for the hospital and 21 pediatric clinics in San Diego and southern Riverside counties. She earned a degree in journalism with an emphasis in public relations from San Diego State University and is currently pursuing a professional certificate in digital media.
